The Teijin Group, a Japan-based global manufacturer and supplier of performance fibers and textiles, announced that it will participate in Techtextil 2009, an international trade fair for the technical textiles and nonwovens industries that will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from June 16 to June 18. Three Teijin group companies — Teijin Fibers Limited, Teijin Aramid BV and Teijin Monofilament Germany GmbH — will present their latest environmentally friendly solutions as well as competitive products covering a wide range of industries.
The exhibit from the group will include the following displays:
* BIOFRONT by Teijin Fibers: an innovative heat-resistant bioplastic with a melting point of 210°C, which is significantly higher than the 170°C melting point of conventional polylactide (PLA), and which is used for car seats and other general merchandise
* PURITYby Teijin Fibers: a heavy-metal-free polyester material with potential applications that include food-contact products such as strainers and tea filters
* ELK by Teijin Fibers: a novel high-performance cushioning material that can be used in place of urethane
* SULFRON by Teijin Aramid: modified aramid-based rubber ingredients that make tires more durable and long-lasting, lowering rolling resistance and reducing fuel consumption
* Bio-derived monofilaments made from PLA by Teijin Monofilament
The Teijin booth at Techtextil, E09 in hall 4.1, will also feature other innovative developments, such as Teijin Aramid’s high-performance aramid fibers, including TWARON, TECHNORA, and TEIJINCONEX; Teijin Fibers’ CELL FORM, a two-dimension sheet for data communication and electricity transmission and TEONEX, high functionality PEN (polyethylene naphthalate) fiber used for tire cords and speakercones; as well as Teijin Monofilament’s ELAS-TER, an elastic polyester copolymer and KAYPLA, a high-performance tape used for self-reinforced composites and ropes.
