Voici un listing de quelques uns des futurs plus gros techno park sur les bioplastiques.

On retient en particulier le « Yunnan International Agri-Food Technopark » en Chine. L’ouverture de ce Parc Technologique (probablement le plus grand du monde, puisque rien que la zone visitable par le public sera de 360 ha) est prévue pour 2011 et les travaux de construction débutent ce printemps 2009.

Polystyren foam to be replaced by fungi ?

Eben Bayer, co-founder of the company Ecovative Design has found a way to use fungi from agricultural waste to replace polystyrene/styrofoam! Read the full article that appeared in the New York Times. One of the applicatiosn targeted is insulation.

Biodegradable Plastic Ecovio In German ALDI Shopping Bags

The large German discount supermarket chain ALDI SÜD is now offering its German customers shopping bags made of BASF’s biodegradable plastic Ecovio®. These bags are manufactured for ALDI by the VICTOR Güthoff & Partner Group, head­quartered in Kerpen, Germany.
The plastic Ecovio consists of Ecoflex® and of polylactic acid (PLA), which is obtained from corn, a renewable raw material. Chemically speaking, Ecoflex is a petro­chemical-based polyester. And yet, thanks to its special molecular structure, it can be digested by microbes under precisely defined conditions: it is completely biodegradable according to European standard EN 13432.

Compostable Food Packaging Proliferates

ecocupsEco-Products, a provider of biodegradable and compostable food packaging, joins a handful of companies that offer compostable food packaging products. Available in April, the company is marketing what it claims to be the first commercially available compostable hot cup lid in North America.
