Braskem & Toyota Tsusho start joint marketing activities for green polyethylene from sugar caneBraskem S.A., the Latin America´s leading petrochemical company, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation have agreed to carry out, through a commercial contract, joint marketing activities for green polyethylene from sugarcane in Asian regions including Japan. Braskem plans to produce green polyethylene for the first time in the world on an industrial scale by 2011.Braskem will build a new facility at their existing industrial unit in Triunfo, RS, Brazil with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons, and will produce High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) from bioethanol derived from sugarcane – non-grain feedstock.

‘Green Plastics’ Search in Database “Bio-Polym Blog”

octobre 3, 2008

A very useful tool ! IDES database make it possible to find out most commercialised biopolymers !

‘Green Plastics’ Search in DatabaseIDES Inc. announced that they have released a search module in their plastic material datasheet search engine, Prospector, that accesses ‘green plastics‘ that are biodegradable or compostable, include recycled content, or are derived from renewable resources.
