Renewable resources for the synthesis of polymers are attracting increasing interest in the polymer industry, due to rising raw-oil prices, environmental concerns and new synthesis routes which allow bio-polymer systems to fulfill at least some requirements of end-user applications.
A lot of research has been dedicated to the application of natural fibres in polymer-based composites. In our symposium on “Green and Wood-Based Composites” we will discuss the latest state of the art, new European concepts of wood-based composites and their production.
